Little Somethings

This is for my friend Willow, maybe a little taste of home. This is the 'guest cottage' that my second cousin (mother's cousin) is in the process of building at his home in Hawai'i. I'm sure he's got extended family that he didn't know he had who want to come and visit when it's done. I do! But he already knows about me. :)

I'm not sure exactly where he is. I've been told that he's in the path of the lava flow, if a lava flow was to occur. I should ask him for a more specific location some day.

This is also for Willow. Fondly dubbed 'Ellie' by Africam forum members, I've seen this bull twice. Doesn't he look happy?!

You can waste away the hours viewing the Africam here. That's what I did last night. And why I didn't get to bed on time.

Have a good day, Willow!

Fyrecreek!!! I didn't get a chance to read this until now (3:33 PM my time so..5:33 PM your time? on Sat.) THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! You have once again brightened my day more than the sunshine we have outside.

What a beautiful "guest cottage" your family has. Hmm...methinks you need to take a trip there, and you'll need a tour guide right? *wink* One that could talk to the locals for you and buy some fresh mango right off the tree.

Ellie is gorgeous! And you got a beautiful picture to boot. I have become so addicted to Africam that I'll turn it on even while I'm not looking at the computer just to hear the sounds. Then anytime something rustles in the leaves I drop what I'm doing and run to my desk. hehehe What a nice "getaway."

I had it on all day while I was at work today. Unfortunately, there is no sound on that computer. I would have loved to have heard the wildebeests! But I did find a way to work and have Africam right in front of me and not in the way of my work. I can't do that on a regular day when managers are there, though!

And another thing...

Upon looking at your cousin's house some more, do you notice that the dirt is red? That's red dirt (duh!) which could indicate what area of the island he's on. I believe it's formed from the lava flows, but that I'm not quite sure about. If he is in the path of the lava flow then I can say for sure he's on The Big Island and possibly on the South West side. Gorgeous island and so full of history. I MUST take you there someday!

Same time post! We can do it here too!! :)

Yes, I believe my mom says 'the Big Island' when I ask where he is, but I would like to know if there's a town name or something I can pinpoint on a map more than just a big mass of land.

I would love to go there someday! I bet you could take me to all the secret places! ;)
